You will have no doubt recently have received lots of emails from various companies about GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), in particular how they must protect your privacy and data.
For those of you who have subscribed to our newsletter, we too have to be transparent and clear about the information we hold about you. You can read our latest Privacy Policy here.
As we mentioned at the last ECA committee meeting on 23rd April, we need to comply with the new Global Data Protection Regulations. There are 3 relevant aspects:
All of those in our database have either signed up themselves through the ECA website or have explicitly asked us to be added…and at the bottom of every Newsletter, the “unsubscribe” option is there.
You will have seen that we are proposing an amendment to the constitution to include “associate members” to the committee. This will mean that those such as our Minutes secretary, website expert and Eton Matters Editor are noted as being able to access the database as needed.
We are developing a privacy policy, which will be accessible in the website when we have completed this work. This will be refined over time and will always be available.
