Flood Alleviation works in Eton Wick

Eton College have sent us the following information about the works in Eton Wick to keep us updated:
We wanted to update you that commencing mid-April we are planning to do the landscaping works for flood management, on the field by Eton Wick Road, expected to complete in May (as it is a good time for the meadow and biodiversity seeding).
This will be sensitively and carefully managed to comply with the RBWM planning consent, and as the land is subject to Lammas Rights we are doing this in compliance also with the Planning Inspectorate and Defra permission we obtained which is in line with the Environment Agency and RBWM’s flood management strategy for the area.
The graphic is a little explanatory note we’ve produced – there will be safety temporary barriers put up while the works are done, however access will be maintained from the usual footpath entrance, and we want this land to be even better than before for access and it includes an improved foot crossing and landscaping features. To be honest the works also help deter travellers as the undulating land created will be far less tempting than the existing topography.
