Urgent repairs on Jubilee River

A message from the Environment Agency:-

"Please find attached a briefing on urgent maintenance works we need to undertake on a section of the Jubilee River. These came to light on a routine inspection by divers below the waterline. Unfortunately, because of the location and the Network Rail bridge, we cannot risk further deterioration. This means we cannot operate the Jubilee River until the maintenance is completed. We are therefore commencing works later this month and the duration will be around 10 weeks.

There will be a significant number of lorry movements in the locality as we bring the materials to site and we are working with the local authority on this. It also means properties will not have the flood protection from the Jubilee River for the duration of the works. We are putting contingency plans in place to help residents, including a separate support team to be available should flooding look a possibility. We will be communicating with residents on this. "
