An update from Rev La Stacey

Dear Everyone

Continuing to pray for you all at this time that you will know God's love with you.

Here is an update about how to access online services, with or without a Facebook account.

This afternoon we have received a letter from our Bishop Stephen and from the Archbishops.

As of now, they say, 'public worship will have to stop for a season. Our usual pattern of Sunday services and other mid-week gatherings must be put on hold.' So there will be no services this Sunday nor coming Sundays until we are given the all clear.

We will not be holding our Mothering Sunday services, so no flower posy making needed. On this day instead they say "As one action, we are calling on everyone to place a lighted candle in their window at 7.00 p.m. as a sign of solidarity and hope in the light of Christ that can never be extinguished."

All mid-week groups and services must now stop - please let anyone usually involved in these know.

The Bishops also say 'do keep church buildings open for private prayer'. We are considering how we can do that safely. It looks as if Mary can open Dorney church in a morning and close it again in the evening. Paula and Hilary have offered to open Eton Wick on weekday afternoons.

We will use our website and facebook page to communicate. The diary on the website shows daily readings on the diary tab here

Our facebook page is here

I attach here a service we can use. The plan is that we will have a time on a Sunday when we will all be saying this together in our homes. I am waiting to see if there will be a service on BBC TV as I don't want to clash with that.

We are organising a rota of people offering a listening ear and offering to say a prayer with people. The rota is below. Let me know if you would like to offer a slot (and for those I have already put in, check this is accurate). Elaine will be phoning regularly those whom she usually visits.

In Eton and Eton Wick, the town council is coordinating local groups to make sure there is volunteer cover for all streets to help with deliveries of medicine, groceries, to post letters etc. If you can help in Eton Wick please contact Claire Taylor on If you can help in Eton please contact Ros Rivaz via

In Dorney the Next Door website is being used to communicate needs and volunteers.

Finally, please beware of scams. There are currently no home testing kits available so anyone offering to sell you one is bogus. As are people telling you that a rebate is due. Do take care.

With blessings and love in Christ
