To Botany Bay and Back - the life of Joseph Banks

George Fussey, Curator of Eton’s Natural History Museum, is giving a talk about the life of Sir Joseph Banks on 19th April at 6.30pm at the museum.

The talk will set the context for the exhibition which is set to run in College from May to October this year.

It will describe Banks and his early life botanising in Eton; his part as explorer on Captain Cook’s Endeavour voyage; and his worldwide scientific and horticultural impact.

There will be a chance to preview some of the objects in the museum. Tickets are available from the Eton Information Centre @£5.
